Located a few steps from the town hall of Les Arrentès-de-Corcieux, the Popet quarry is a heritage site that could be described as a "gem". In February 2025, the municipality committed to showcasing this site, which is surprising in many ways. To share the history of the site, the Town Hall wanted to install explanatory panels, particularly on the rocks. That is why it called on our services.
We therefore produced around ten different formats of enamelled heritage plaques featuring the history of the quarry and period photographs.

Unused for decades, the Popet quarry covers an area of 43,200 m². The silos, tunnel and platform are still in good condition. Before it closed in 1979, it employed up to sixty workers who extracted granite, mainly for use in paving stones.

Old machinery donated by Maurice Lacroix, owner of the Lacroix quarry in Granges, and the Gérardmer town council complete the restoration of the site, which has been open to the public since September 2025.
